Podgorica, 2nd June 2008. On the press conference of Montenegro Airlines and the Ministry of Tourism and Environment Protection, they announced the increase of frequences on the existing lines, the introduction of new ones, as well as the implementation of low cost model on certain number of seats as of autumn.
Montenegro shall be connected, during the summer season, besides the scheduled line where Montenegro Airlines operates, also with Frankfurt daily and with Moscow three times a week. The openining of new lines for London was announced in June, for Milan in July, and the preparations for the opening of new lines for Berlin, Brussels and Dusseldorf are being done. All this shall be realized thanks to the acquisition of the new aircraft type Embraer 195 the arrival of which is expected to be at Podgorica Airport on 8th June 2008.
Minister Nenezić has emphasized that the introduction of new lines has a special importance now when Montenegro is approaching the moment of visa abolishment for its citizens in all the states of the European Union. The Minister has announced that starting from October the implementation of low cost system shall be initiated where the tickets shall be sold at low cost tariffs with an average 30 seats per flight, with a booking made in time.
The President of the airline has stated that for the first five months of this year Montenegro Airlines transported over 154.000 passengers which is 21% more than the same period of last year. In the course of this year Montenegro Airlines is expecting to transport half a million of passengers.
